Beth A. Moore earned her medical degree at Temple University School of Medicine in 1991. She completed her general surgery residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center, later acquiring specialty training in colon and rectal surgery at St. Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. Moore has been in practice since 1997 and is double board certified and general surgery and colon and rectal surgery.

Dr. Moore was the Chief of the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center from 2001-2005. She is the founder and director for 10 years of the Colon and Rectal Cancer Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Moore was also the President of the Southern California Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery. She has special interest in laparoscopic and robotic surgery for benign and malignant diseases of the colon and rectum. Her main clinical and research interests involve optimizing outcomes and techniques in the treatment of colon and rectal cancer, benign anorectal diseases and fecal incontinence.
“I was inspired by watching Alan Alda on MASH,” says Dr. Moore. “He was hard-working and caring and I wanted to be a surgeon just like him.”

Dr. Moore loves to teach as well as travel with her two children. Her passion for helping people has taken her to Guatemala for several medical missions and surgeries on needy residents.
